Statement of Faith

"I write so that you will know how one ought to conduct oneself in The household of God, which is the Church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth."

-I Timothy 3:15.

Our Church has a great fondness for the five "solas", those famous slogans of the reformation. (Since sola means "only," these are the five "onlys" of the reformation.):

Sola Gratia - Grace Alone
(The only reason God saves is because he has grace; He is gracious to us in salvation.)
Sola Fide - Faith Alone
(Faith is the only means to acceptance with God. None of our works will bring acceptance before him. There is nothing special about the faith, and it does not make us holier; it must be in Christ.)
Sola Christus - Christ Alone
Christ is the only one who saves us; no work of ourselves or any other saint or angel or any blessing bestowed by any other being is efficacious toward salvation.
Sola Scriptura - The Bible Alone
The Bible alone is our only guide for faith and practice. No creed, council, confession or conviction must ever supersede the plain, literal, contextual and soundly hermeneutical understanding of what God has said in His Word.
Soli Deo Gloria - To the Glory of God Alone
Our Church believes the First and Second London Baptist confessions, published in 1644 (revised 1646) and 1689 respectively.  The Second London Baptist Confession is very similar to the greatest English language Presbyterian Confession, The Westminster Confession of 1646.

More briefly, we could state it thus:
  • God
  • The Bible
  • Man
  • Sin and the Fall
  • Redemption
  • Faith
  • The Holy Spirit
  • Regeneration
  • Life and Santification
  • The Final Judgement
