Association of Certified of Biblical Counselors (ACBC)

For nearly 40 years, the National Association of Nouthetic Counselor (NANC)has been certifying biblical counselors to ensure doctrinal integrity and to promote excellence in biblical counseling. In October 2013, the name was changed to the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). We are still committed to doing nouthetic, or biblical, counseling but it is with this new identity.

OUR HISTORY

For Many Years...

     It has been the desire of a group of Christians in our area to have a place in Sonoma County where solid Biblical counseling and reformed theology could be made available to the community. In 1999, God graciously made this desire a reality with the inception of the Biblical Counseling Center (BCC).

     Under the auspices of the Sovereign Grace Community Church (SGCC), BCC is currently a place for Biblical counseling services for individuals, children, couples pre-marital couples and family. BCC is founded on the conviction that the Bible alone, and not the Bible plus human psychology, is the only sufficient rule for godly and successful living. BCC is an outreach ministry of SGCC and is under the oversight of SGCC's elders.


We are also grateful to the Lord for how He has blessed this ministry. In 2011, we were certified as a NANC (now ACBC) Certified Training Centers with classes, seminars, and special workshops available for individuals, groups and churches.
